Successful first edition of the Polish
Biomethane Organization’s Forum

The 1st Forum of the Polish Biomethane Organisation, which took place as part of the European Biomethane Week, featuring a comprehensive programme, insightful discussions and important declarations has concluded with great success. Around 200 participants from up to 160 companies attended the event. The Polish Biomethane Organisation extends its heartful thank-you to all the participants and speakers who attended the event.

The 1st Forum of the Polish Biomethane Organisation was officially opened by MichałTarka, the Director General of the PBO. The Forum’s special guest was prof. Jerzy Buzek, MEP, who stressed that as many as 15 million people in Poland can benefit from biomethane in district heating. In his keynote address, the former Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of Member States working with each other to create a legal framework that will enable the deployment of biomethane, stressing that EU countries should be urged to include a binding 35 billion cubic meters (bcm) biomethane target by the end of 2030 in their legislation.

The Forum consisted of four thematic sessions: Biomethane Legislation, Social Acceptance of Biomethane Investments, Directions for Developing the Biomethane Business, Technologies, and a panel discussion featuring PBO members and invited guests. The program is available “HERE”.

The presentations, discussions and panels were extremely inspiring and made a valuable contribution to the development of the biomethane sector in Poland, thanks to the commitment and expertise of the following speakers::
